He played high school baseball but his high school football career was cut short by a knee injury. He has also earned a reputation in South Jersey as a basketball public address announcer who brings excitement to the game. Though he tries to be impartial with his analysis, Dennis has been known to paint his face orange and black for Flyers games. He recently has coached on the high school level and is currently a Dean of Students.
