Conover Acres
For many years, Theresa Conover would open her estate in Galloway
Township to The Young Entertainers on a summer Saturday or Sunday. It was a log home
at the end of a long access road with its own lake and lots of land.
Members of the group and their families would swim, boat, play volleyball, play whiffle ball,
walk through the woods and, most of all, eat! The sports competitions were greatly enhanced
by the play-by-play skills of Forest Conover, the director of activities.
Later, those who were not hospitalized by the ferocious athletic competition, would move
inside to watch horror films in the dark -
and eat some more!
