The Sports Team



Our Sports Team consists of Tom Williams, Bud Rinck, Tom Getzke, Steve Parker, Jim Schafer, Butch Gleason, Dennis Smith, Mike Gill, Ken Mosca, John Leon and Pete Thompson. In various combinations, they report from South Jersey sports events and present live play-by-play of South Jersey high school and college sports on "ESPN-97.3 FM (WENJ) and "98.7-The Coast" (WCZT-FM). You should be able to hear these stations throughout Cape May, Atlantic and even Cumberland counties in Southern New Jersey. They are also available online through the following links -

During the fall season, our Sports Team broadcasts live play-by-play of Cape-Atlantic League high school football. Tom Williams, Bud Rinck and Butch Gleason generally follow Ocean City on 98.7-The Coast, Tony Blum anchors coverage of Atlantic County games on ESPN 97.3-FM.
There is a CAL football hour every Friday night (6-7pm) during Mike Gill's show on ESPN 97.3 FM featuring previews of the night's action, stats and interviews. We also have updates from other CAL games during the broadcasts.
The Sports Team will also host the "NFL Challenge" prediction contest and will honor winners of "The Flagship Awards" as the top CAL senior athletes.

In the winter, our Sports Team broadcasts live play-by-play of CAL basketball - plus occassional games featuring the men and women of Richard Stockton College. Tom Williams, Tony Blum and Mike Gill are the primary play-by-play voices of these broadcasts with the other members of our Sports Team providing analysis. They frequently bring our listeners updates from other games.

In addition to the play-by-play of local high schools and colleges, our Sports Team also covers events like the ShopRite LPGA Classic, The Ocean City PBA Tipoff Weekend, the Boardwalk Basketball Classic in Wildwood, the Prime Events Girls Basketball Shootout at Holy Spirit, the NJSIAA Tournament and All Star Saturday.
