Nancy White scored 10 points and Taylor Vanderslice hit a trio of three-pointers
for nine points.
Boys Basketball (9-7) lost to Hammonton, 53-48
Trey Severs scored 20 points, including four three-pointers. This marked the
first time since 1951-52 that Hammonton has beaten the Raiders twice in one season.

Girls Swimming (6-3) defeated Atlantic City, 109-74
Suzanne Mooney won the individual medley and the 100 freestyle while also
swimming on two winning relay teams.
Boys Swimming (2-4) lost to Atlantic City, 110-73
George Santer won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle for OCHS..

Boys Basketball (9-6) defeated Triton, 59-30
OC won its 4th straight and qualified for the NJSIAA Group 3 Tournament.
Trey Severs had 17 points on 7-for-16 shooting, including two three-pointers. Devon
Scioli added 13 points, including nine in the first quarter. A.J. Harris had five steals
and three blocked shots.

Wrestling (4-14) lost to Holy Cross, 40-35
James Jackson, Charles Barber and Jon Baltz had perfect 3-0 days for the

Girls Basketball (14-1) defeated Lower Cape May, 51-31
Nancy White had 12 points, Michelle McKinley 11 and Kelly Brady 10 in a
big division game. Casey Beyel added 11 rebounds.
Boys Basketball (8-6) defeated Lower Cape May, 57-53
Trey Severs returned to the lineup after missing two games and scored 10 points,
including four important free throws in the final 70 seconds after Lower cut a 13-point lead
down to three. A.J. Harris paced OC with 14 points and five steals. Brandt Heininger had six
points and six boards.

Wrestling (2-14) lost to Vineland, 39-35
James Jackson, Rich Dougherty, John McCardell, Charles Barber, Vince DeSantis
and Matt Graham scored pins for OCHS.
Tuesday, January 23rd
Girls Basketball (13-1) defeated Oakcrest, 56-25
Nancy White scored 16 points and Kelly Brady added 10 as the Raiders won
their 5th straight.
Boys Basketball (7-6) defeated Oakcrest, 50-45
Devon Scioli scored a career-high 18 points and Shane Gilson netted 10, his
career high, as the Raiders earned a split of the season series with the Falcons. A.J. Harris
had nine points and seven rebounds.

Girls Swimming (4-3) finished 3rd at South Jersey Meet
Kelly McCarthy was 4th in the 100 butterfly and the Raiders won medals in
all three relays.

Girls Basketball (12-1) defeated Millville, 69-37
The Raiders supplied Paul Baruffi with his 100th career victory. Taylor
Vanderslice had a career-high 17 points and Kelly Brady added 10.
Boys Basketball (6-6) defeated Millville, 58-55
In one of the greatest comebacks in OCHS history, the Raiders scored the
final 16 points of the game. They trailed by 21 points in the 3rd quarter and by 13 with
less than five minutes left. A.J. Harris scored the final eight points of the game in the
last minute. Brandt Heininger had 14 points and 11 boards.
Girls Swimming (4-3) at South Jersey Diving Meet
Carly Sheppard finished 5th in Division B with a 183.65 score.

Girls Swimming (4-3) defeated Vineland, 105-80
Suzanne Mooney, Kelsey Levering and Colleen Smith each won one event
and were on two winning relay teams.
Boys Swimming (2-3) lost to Vineland, 101-84
George Santer, John Vogel & Gene Taylor each won two events for the Raiders.

The Raiders needed a rally, starting the 4th quarter tied with the Vikings.
Nancy White scored 13 and Michelle McKinley 12 for OCHS.

Brandt Heininger scored 16 points and Devon Scioli 13 for the Raiders. Trey
Severs, the leading scorer in the American Conference, went down with a sprained ankle in
the second quarter.

Trey Severs scored 22 points, including a trio of three-pointers, and Devon Scioli
had 10 points & 10 rebounds. But Mainland took the lead late in the first quarter and never
relinquished it.

John Vogel won two events for the Raiders.

Girls Basketball (9-1) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 55-43
Taylor Vanderslice drilled four 3-pointers for a game-high 12 points. Nancy
White and Michelle McKinley each added nine.
Boys Basketball (5-4) defeated Egg Harbor Township, 63-51
Trey Severs scored 28 points, including 12 of 13 free throws. Brandt Heininger had
7 points & 10 rebounds. Jack McNally made three important free throws in the final two minutes,
one of the few times in South Jersey when a high school player has scored varsity points against
a team coached by his father.
Saturday, January 6th
Girls Basketball (8-1) lost to Middle Township, 43-40
The Raiders suffered a stunning upset, falling behind by 13 in the first half.
OC cut the lead to a single point with just over two minutes left but Middle held on to win.
Nancy White & Danielle Brady each scored eight with Brady also getting eight rebounds.
Boys Basketball (4-4) lost to Middle Township, 57-53
Trey Severs scored 31 points on 11-for-21 shooting, including four 3-pointers
and OCHS opened a 17-point lead in the first half. The Raiders still led by a point with just
over a minute left but Middle scored the final five points.

Girls Basketball (8-0) defeated Absegami, 47-28
Michelle McKinley had 13 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kelly
Brady grabbed nine boards. Absegami had won 84 straight conference games since its last
defeat in February, 2000.
Boys Swimming (1-2) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 117-68
Pat Lavin won the 200 freestyle, the only individual win by the Raiders.
Girls Swimming (2-3) lost to Egg Harbor Township, 104-82
Kelsey Levering won the 200 freestyle and was part of the winning 400 freestyle
relay.

James Jackson's pin was the biggest of OC's four wins.

Girls Basketball (7-0) defeated Vineland, 71-30
Nancy White had 16 points and three assists, Casey Beyel had 10 points and five
rebounds.
Boys Basketball (4-3) defeated Vineland, 57-50
Trey Severs scored 28 points, including a 16-for-16 performance at the foul line
that broke two OCHS records. The team shot 92 percent from the line, breaking a 32-year old
school mark. Severs also had 10 rebounds. John Fogarty added 11 points with Brandt Heininger
getting six boards.

John McCardell's third place finish at 125 was the best by a Raider.
Indoor Track at Seton Hall Games
John Fennekohl won the 3000 meters in 9:18.92, a school record. The girls distance
medley team (Alisha Bird, Katie Corson, Katie Birchmeier, Hillary Morris) also took a first place
in 14:56.0.

Boardwalk Basketball Classic at Wildwoods Convention Center:
Boys Basketball (2-3) defeated Philadelphia Electrical, 58-46
Trey Severs scored 20 points (including 7 of 7 from the line) plus 8 rebounds, 3
steals and 3 assists. A.J. Harris added 18 on 7 for 10 shooting.

Sophomore Kelly Brady pourted in 26 points and grabbed nine
rebounds. Her older sister, Danielle, added 13 points and nine boards.

The Raiders only win came from the freestyle relay team of Anna
Ceniccola, Kelsey Levering, Suzanne Mooney & Colleen Smith. Mainland's Joanna
Thomas set a national record in the 500 free.

OC did not finish first in a single event.
