OCHS First Decade Teams
Brittany Sedberry was top Raider girls runner in First Decade!

The First Decade of the 21st Century was pretty impressive for Ocean City High School
girls cross country. The Raiders lost only five meets in 10 seasons from 2000-09.
Leading the way was a very impressive athlete. Though she was unable to run in top form as
a senior because of a variety of injuries and illnesses, Brittany Sedberry left her mark
as one of New Jersey's greatest distance runners. She won the NJSIAA Meet of Champions twice,
was South Jersey Runner Of The Year three times, was first team all-conference four times
and qualified for the Foot Locker National Championship twice. Sedberry was clearly the
OCHS Girls Cross Country Runner of the Decade.
But there is a strong lineup of talented runners joining her. The group includes Allie Moreland,
a three-time all-conference pick and second team All-South Jersey selection and Brenda Briney,
a three-time all-conference pick.
Four other runners who were also all-conference in the First Decade make this a very deep team.
They are Lindsey Nunan, Colsey Moreland, Kelsey Greene and Anna Ceniccola.
OCHS won seven Cape May County championships, seven titles in the Cape-Atlantic League and
back-to-back South Jersey championships in girls cross country during the 10-year period,
led by an impressive group of runners.
But the best of them all in the First Decade of this century was Brittany Sedberry. She joins
Abbey Hartman (90s) and Maryjo Dougherty (80s) as Ocean City High School Girls Cross Country
Runners of the Decade.
