OCHS Teams of the 90's

Rich Vinnacombe top Raider runner of the 90s!

The 1990s featured eight straight winning seasons for the Ocean City High School boys cross country team along with six Cape May County titles and a Cape-Atlantic League division championship.

The best of the decade happened in the first five years, though the 1990s ended with a team that was loaded with young, promising runners. The Raiders, coached by Bill Moreland throughout the decade, won five straight county titles to start the 90s, including a 10-1 team in 1991 that won the American II championship.

Rich Vinnacombe, the top OCHS runner of the 1990s, was the only Raider to earn first team honors on the American Conference all stars during the decade. He went on to run as a walk-on at Bucknell University and eventually earn his MBA at Georgetown.

Also earning mention as the best of the 1990s are Zac Case, a three-time second team selection and the leading runner on the 1991 champions; Colin Ludgate, Dan Martenz and Don Martenz, all selected twice to the CAL second team; and two others who earned second team nods once - Dave Bouchard and Geoff Dull.
